What is a Peak Flow Meter?

A Peak Flow Meter is used to measure Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF). PEF is the maximum expiratory flow reached when breathing out fast and strongly. The measuring takes place in the beginning of a person’s exhalation.

About Personal Best®

Personal Best® is a Peak Flow Meter with a range from 60 to 800 l/min and it can be used by both children and adults.

In agreement with your doctor you can plot your values for PEF on your Personal Best®, green zone – your personal best, yellow zone - mild/moderate airway obstruction (the extent of contraction/tightness in the airways) and red zone – serious airway obstruction. When measuring PEF the Personal Best® will immediately monitor your lung condition. Based on this, you will follow the treatment plan provided by your doctor. This is why Personal Best® is a simple and reliable tool to help you and your doctor manage your lung disease.
